istockphoto, what are you doing? why is your display image significantly more saturated than the actual purchased download?
is this some kind of marketing mischief? i’m not impressed.
Because the preview image was saved down to the color space sRGB. The full size image comes with no color space profile assigned for you to pick your own if you need it. Try it yourself, file > save for web click the checkbox next to sRGB.
Oh, and anyone can contribute to iStockphoto, making quality control hit or miss.
