A lap around the neighborhood on a vintage 2 stroke.
My RD is finally running respectably. Still getting the jetting perfect, but here’s the list of hurdles that have been overcome thus far:
- Left side crank seal was leaking and blew a hole through the top of the piston. I.e. total engine rebuild.
- Thirty year old ignition coils were proven to be intermittent and replaced.
- Bad condenser diagnosed and replaced.
- I put the throttle slides in backwards (doh!)
- Initial jetting was far too rich.
That’s not to mention I’ve rebuilt the entire bike from the ground up. Still too rich on the pilot jet.
