Other Things

A lap around the neighborhood on a vintage 2 stroke.

My RD is finally running respectably. Still getting the jetting perfect, but here’s the list of hurdles that have been overcome thus far:

  1. Left side crank seal was leaking and blew a hole through the top of the piston. I.e. total engine rebuild.
  2. Thirty year old ignition coils were proven to be intermittent and replaced.
  3. Bad condenser diagnosed and replaced.
  4. I put the throttle slides in backwards (doh!)
  5. Initial jetting was far too rich.

That’s not to mention I’ve rebuilt the entire bike from the ground up. Still too rich on the pilot jet.
